Recommend Hotfixes and Updates for Hyper-V and Failover Clusters

Windows Server

I the last couple of releases I always posted the pages where you could get the list of Recommended Hotfixes and Updates for Windows Server 2012 Failover Clusters and List of Hyper-V and Failover Cluster Hotfixes for Windows Server 2012. I want to upgrade the post with the links for Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2. So you can find all updates from a single site.

Windows Server 2012 R2

Windows Server 2012

Windows Server 2008 R2

Feel free to share this page and I always recommend to get the latest hotfixes when you are deploying a new Hyper-V or Scale-Out File Server environment. And definitely check also Aidan Finns blog from time to time where he does some deeper look at the Knowledge Base articles for Hyper-V.

    Afternoon

I was wondering if there are any more updates available for Windows 2008R2 after 19 Mar 2014 1:01 AM. I have applied all necessary updates and in some cases have superseded certain – .dll, .sys files.

I am currently still having issues with CSV’s disconnecting on live nodes when a node in maintenence mode is restarted. CSV’s are reconnecting after a few minutes on live nodes. Also having issues with Cluster service needing to be manually restarted before i can see CSV’s

Anyone else experiencing this issue or something similar?

Have had call open with HP/Microsoft for over a year and have spent 100+ Premier Support Hours on this so far. Latest driver/firmware for Network Card installed and hotfix KB2531907 has been installed already.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Thomas,

Do I need to apply the updates and hotfixes for windows 2012R2 Cluster, even though I don’t have any issues.

Usually hotfixes are applied only when you have a issues.

    thank you

I personally recommend reading the description of the hotfix, and if it makes sense to install it. Especially if there is something about potential data loss

  3. […] Usually, I go into my favorites and round up all the various links for you. I don’t have to do that anymore. Thomas Maurer has given us all a simple page to go look at that links to all the Hyper-V and Failover Cluster patches and hotfixes for the last three versions. […]
