I’m super excited to announce that I will be hosting an Ask me anything (AMA) on Microsoft Azure training, certifications, and cloud computing career advancement. This is a great opportunity for you to ask me anything you want to know about Azure and how it can help you achieve your professional goals.
Fun fact, this is my sixth year in the Microsoft Certified Trainer program! Being a Microsoft Certified Trainer is a great honor and I am happy to be part of this community. Before I joined Microsoft, I was also a Microsoft MVP for 7 years. I have a huge passion for learning and cloud computing!
Ask me anything about:
- How to learn Microsoft Azure in 2023
- How to transition from your traditional IT career to a cloud expert.
- How to get started in cloud computing.
- Why you should become Microsoft Azure Certified
- How to prepare and pass Microsoft Azure Certification exams.
- How Microsoft Learn can help you get the training and skills needed to build your career and be a leader in your organization
- Different career paths you can pursue with Azure certifications
- How to become a Microsoft Certified Trainer
- What technical and soft skills do I need?
- and more!
The AMA on Microsoft Azure training, certifications, and cloud computing career will take place on Thursday 6/22 @ 10am – 1pm PDT / 12pm – 3pm CDT. To join the AMA, just visit this link and post your questions in the comments section. I will try to answer as many questions as possible during the live session. Don’t miss this chance to learn from an Azure expert and get inspired to take your career to the next level!
I hope to see you there!

[Reddit removed my post because i’ve only just signed up/ :(]
I have 3 x Mini PCs, 1x MS windows Devkit 2023, 8x Raspberry PI 4s and a Decent spec’d PC (Ryzen 9 3900X/64GB RAM) and a smaller 8 core/32GB RAM PC. I’m studying Azure Certification recently completed AZ-900 and AZ-104>AZ-400 are end goals. I’m an Infrastructure/App Support guy professionally.
What can I do to give myself some hands on work with the Azure stack (I have an Visual Studio Professional subscription) that could give me practical experience using the homelab gear I have in tandem with the Azure Subscription (or even just on it’s own)?
So for Azure Stack HCI you will need to have a x86_amd64 based PC. (the AMD PC is the right option).
You could install a single node Azure Stack HCI https://www.thomasmaurer.ch/2022/05/set-up-single-node-azure-stack-hci/. Now that said, it will obviously not provide you with all the feature when it comes to HA and clustering.
I also have written a bit about my homelab here: https://www.thomasmaurer.ch/2021/11/my-windows-server-and-azure-arc-hybrid-cloud-lab-kit/
Thank you so much for this, using your Azure Arc post I’ve added of my NUCs to Azure Arc while a third is running RHEL also added to Arc, I will read through your Azure Stack HCI post and add that to my Azure account also. I found your Homelab post really interesting and has fueled my drive to get my homelab up and running properly.
awesome!
