My new Nokia Lumia 800 – Windows Phone

Nokia Lumia 800

Last week I got my Nokia Lumia 800 and even I already have read a lot of articles and reviews about it, I am impressed about the beautiful design and the build quality.

The first problem noticed was the battery life. My HTC Titan had something like two days of battery life and the battery of my Lumia 800 was empty after just one day. At the same day I also got the Windows Phone update (7.10.8107.79) and I deactivated the Exchange Push for my work mail account. Now the battery life seems to be the same or better than on my HTC Titan.

Now the Lumia 800 (3.7-inch screen) cloud be a bit bigger for me (the Lumia 900 with a 4.3-inch Screen could be perfect). I also miss the Internet Sharing feature, but there should be an update soon to activate this feature.
Overall I really like the Nokia Lumia 800 and it will be my main phone for the next months.

My next Phone, the Nokia Lumia 800

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone

Today Nokia released their first two Windows Phone devices, the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Nokia Lumia 710. I am really looking forward to get a Nokia Lumia 800 as soon as possible. I think this is one of the first phones which can be compared to the iPhone in terms of design (Of course besides the Nokia N9).

Nokia Lumia 800 specs:

  • 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255
  • 3.7-inch curved AMOLED Gorilla Glass 800 x 480
  • 8 megapixel dual-LED flash
  • Video recording 720p at 30fps
  • Cellular quadband UMTS / HSPA (14.4Mbps) quadband GSM
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Memory 512MB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage
  • 1,450mAh Battery

My next Mobile Phone

Last week Nokia CEO Stephen Elop unveiled Nokias first Windows Phone device. I think the partnership between Nokia and Microsoft is the best for both. Nokia creates hardware which can compete with Apple devices and this as one of the only companys in the smartphone business. Microsoft on the other hand develops a great mobile operating system which will be even better with the next big update called Mango.

Nokia and Microsoft bringing awesomeness to the mobile world

Nokia Windows Phone 7

Today Nokia and Microsoft announced a partnership and Nokia will use Windows Phone 7 as their primary Smartphone OS. Both of them are really underdogs in the mobile world right now. Okay Nokia is still selling a lot of phones but symbian is no really a big shot. I don’t really understand a lot of negative comments out there.

I see this partnership as a big chance for Microsoft and Nokia. Microsoft brings the great new Mobile OS and Nokia adds great Hardware to this. I don’t see a lot of good hardware out there which could mess with the iPhone 4 except Nokias latest Smartphones.

So I am really looking forward to see the first Nokia Phones with Windows Phone 7.
