What’s in my bag for the Microsoft MVP Global Summit 2013

Only a few days left until I catch my flight with Marcel Zehner (MVP System Center Datacenter & Cloud Management) to Redmond for the Microsoft MVP Global Summit 2013. Microsoft invites all MVPs worldwide (approx 4000) for a great week of learning, sharing and networking on the Microsoft Campus. For this week I had to pack some stuff for the flight and the days we will spend and work there.

Bag for Microsoft MVP Summit

  • Nokia Lumia 920 – We sure I need my smartphone and I definitely can use the Pureview camera to create some great shots from Seattle and Redmond.
  • Microsoft Surface RT – I loaded the Surface with a lot of movies for the long flight. The Surface RT should have definitely enough battery life for watching some videos and get some writing done.
  • Zune HD – I already mentioned that I am a huge fan of Microsoft Hardware and I like to have a different music player to save the battery of my Lumia 920.
  • Zune Headphones – I am still impressed by the quality of the Zune Headphones
  • Lenovo ThinkPad X1 - This is my work machine, a great powerful and light device.
  • WD USB Hard drive – Adding a little more storage to my bag
  • Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse – perfect travel mouse
  • USB Stick with Windows To Go
  • SD Cards – Additional Storage
  • And of course much more…

Btw. I really can’t wait to pick up a Microsoft Surface Pro in one of the Microsoft Stores in Seattle or Bellevue.

Some new toys for my Nokia Lumia 920

Today I had some time to get some new toys for my favorite Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 920.

First I got a Nokia Wireless Charging Pillow by Fatboy, which will charge my phone on my office desk.

And for my living room I got the JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia Lumia. The PowerUp allows you to wireless charge your Lumia and to stream music to it via Bluetooth. The phone is really easy to connect with the integrated NFC solution.

My Nokia Lumia 920 has finally arrived

I already bought the first Nokia Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 800 and the flagship the Nokia Lumia 900 this year. Now some ago Nokia released the Lumia 920 with Windows Phone 8, and after waiting for some weeks my Lumia 920 finally arrived.

Now I just own the Lumia 920 for a couple of days but I am already impressed by the hardware and of course Windows Phone 8. As a Windows Phone user of the first hour I can report that Microsoft did a great job with Windows Phone 8.

And of course with the Nokia Lumia 920 brings really nice hardware to the Windows Phone environment and I love the new camera.

Some I am happy with my Christmas gift to myself and I wish all of you a wonderful holiday.

Awesome new Windows Phone 8 phones coming

In the past day Samsung and Nokia showed there new Windows Phone 8 phones and HTC will show the new lineup in the next days. I really excited and can’t wait to get one of the new Windows Phone 8 phones.

Samsung brings a new stylish Windows Phone 8 called Samsung Ativ S.

Nokia announced two new Windows Phone 8 phones called Nokia Lumia 820 and the new flagship device the Nokia Lumia 920. Both bring some cool new features like wireless charring and NFC. The Lumia 920 has also Nokias PureView camera technology included which looks pretty amazing.

Finally got my Nokia Lumia 900

Nokia Lumia 900

Now after using the HTC TITAN for a while I finally got my Nokia Lumia 900 here in Switzerland. My first Windows Phone was the HTC Trophy which I got back in in November 2010. One year later I got the HTC TITAN and the Nokia Lumia 800.

Now since yesterday I own the Nokia Lumia 900, and I think it is the best Windows Phone at the moment.

Some of the key features or reasons for the Lumia 900 are:

  • Great Nokia build quality
  • Awesome design
  • 4.3 inch screen perfect size for me
  • Great display colors
  • Good 8 MP camera
  • Internet Sharing (still waiting for a update for my Lumia 800)
  • super fast (Like in every other Windows Phone)
  • excellent antenna performance (I am at some places where I get really bad signal, and other phones like the iPhone and the HTC Titan are dropping calls from time to time, my Lumia 900 gets a much better reception.)
  • Windows Phone OS

You can get some more information about the Nokia Lumia 900 on the Nokia Website.

Update:

btw. my Nokia Lumia 900 is running Windows Phone Tango (OS Version: 7.10.8773.98.) with Internet Sharing
