I think this is not really new but it looks like a lot of people don’t know about the new service of Microsoft called Docs.com. Docs.com is a kind of a online Office Suite connected to Facebook.

You can simple upload or create Microsoft Office files and share them with your Facebook friends. I think this is the first time Microsoft gets his Google Docs rival right. It’s very simple to use and you can login and share documents with something nearly every person has.

In Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008, SCVMM added the VLAN automatically to the VM Hosts VLAN Trunk , if you added the VLAN to a Virtual Machine.

In Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 (SCVMM 2008 R2), this does not happen automatically. After or before you added the VLAN to the Virtual Machine you have to add the specific VLAN to the Host network adapter.

In the properties of the Virtual Machine Host under networking you have to edit the VLN Trunk.

Now you can add VLAN IDs to the VLAN Trunk:

This is a very small line of code to count Sharepoint 2010 Site Collections with Powershell.

I am working at some larger powershell scripts right now and so I needed to create a simple retry logic for sending web request to a server.

You cannot really name a file like that with a windows machine. But Linux and Unix systems like Mac OS X allow this.

After renaming the file to a normal Windows filename, the customer you download the file again.

Btw you can simple rename the file with powershell

1. Copy the SCVMM 2008 R2 on the Server
2. Start the Setup.exe
3. Install VMM Server, the installer check that this is an update of an existing installation
4. After updating the VMM Server you have to install the new VMM Administrator Console and the new Self-Service Portal if needed.
5. The installer of the VMM Administrator Console and the VMM Self-Service Portal will first uninstall the old version and then install the new version.
6. After installing the SCVMM 2008 R2 you have to check for Windows Updates
7. After a rebooting the SCVMM Server you have to push the new Agent Update to the Virtual Host Servers
8. Now you are done

Server object error ‘ASP 0177 : 800401f3′

Solving this problem is pretty easy, just register your AspJPEG.dll and restart IIS:

or you could add it very simple over the IIS Manager.

• First I created a Image of the old server with Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010, this could be done online. I just stopped all the Sharepoint, SQL and Web Services so that no new data could be written in the time I created this Image.
• After I moved this Image to the Microsoft Hyper-V Host Server, I started to convert the v2i Image with Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 to a Microsoft VHD.
• I created a new Virtual Machine on the Hyper-V Server and added this existing VHD. (Important here: I tried to create the same Hardware environment for the VM which I had as physical Hardware before. (Dual Core with 2048MB memory) So I had basically no problem to start the Virtual Machine.
• Now its time to install the Hyper-v integration components (the VM Drivers) which can only be installed on Windows Server 2003 with SP2 or later. I turned off the Virtual Machine again and attached the VHD File offline on my Hyper-v Server, so I had file access to the Virtual Hard Disk. I simply added the Servicepack 2 file to the root of the VHD.
• After unmounting the VHD, I started my Virtual Machine again and installed the Servicepack 2 and the Hyper-v Integration components.
• Now I added more Hardware to the Virtual Machine (Quad-Core and 4GB memory). I also change the Legacy Network Adapters to normal Network Adapters (higher Network performance)

The performance of the new Hyper-v is just pretty impressive.
