Some years ago I moved from Apple products to PC products from mayor vendors like HP, Lenovo or Dell. I really love Windows and the way it works, don’t get me wrong OS X is a good operating system and some years ago (between Windows XP and Windows Vista/7) it had some advantages, but as I think in the last years the company who did the most and major innovation was Microsoft. Now what I always missed was really cool hardware. I know there are some machines out there which are okay but it does just not feel as good as Apple hardware.
Some months ago I saw some articles on the web about a small American company which was know for his TVs is starting to build PCs… Crazy? Sure I would think you have to be a little crazy to enter the PC market at all but when you see the products they make, you realize this could work. They make really clean and beautiful Apple like designs and they focus and building good hardware and not just selling some plastic.

I also wait for them to be purchased in switzerland, digitec is probably going to have it (I hope). I agree with ‘nearly’ all you said, about the innovation Microsoft did, specially since they started developing windows 8, I actually thought about buying an iMac, since I’m a graphic designer it’s somehow known that many designers use it to work with it, I worked with it now since 2 months and I can’t get used to the shortcuts and system, it destroys my productivity… but I always felt like it’s a trend since the apple machines look so “elegant” in the offices, so everyone does the same because clients probably think they’re not “professionals”.
but now the game changes.. Windows 8 is simpler, you can develop 1 app to work across all devices, it boots up in 6 – 10 seconds, metro apps, charmes… I only doubt the original start button is going to be missed!
with what I totally disagree with you is that Vizio’s PC’s look apple like.. I get what you mean that they’re as elegant as what apple used to build! but they’re looking totally different in every way… Vizio’s One has 2 hdmi ports, the display is way thinner, the main stuff is on the bottom, all the cable ports are on the bottom, it’s unlike everything apple ever did…
the PC producer brands should finally wake up and start producing good looking hardware! the average person thinks of a huge tower with a monitor and audio boxes when he hears windows. that has to change!
